Mt. Soledad

President Bush signed into law yesterday Federal legislation providing for the immediate transfer of the Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial in San Diego from city ownership to Federal ownership. This ends the legal challenges to the large cross at the center of the Memorial now pending in Federal and state courts in California. Those cases are against the City of San Diego, which no longer owns the property, and are based on the California Constitution, which does not apply to this Federal action.

This won’t end the fight but it changes the odds considerably. If anyone thinks that the ACLU would invest this much energy in a lawsuit attacking traditional American beliefs and practices, then just walk away on a technicality, they’re kidding themselves. The ACLU will simply move their lawsuit into federal court. Still, it’s nice seeing part of their hard work go down the tubes.

It couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of losers.

Teaching Today

After being interviewed by the school administration, the eager teaching prospect said:

Let me see if I've got this right. You want me to go into that room with all those kids, and fill their every waking moment with a love for learning, and I'm supposed to instill a sense of pride in their ethnicity, modify their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse and even censor their T-shirt messages and dress habits.

You want me to wage a war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, check their backpacks for weapons of mass destruction, and raise their self esteem. You want me to teach them patriotism, good citizenship, sportsmanship, fair play, how to register to vote, how to balance a checkbook, and how to apply for a job.

I am to check their heads for lice, maintain a safe environment, recognize signs of anti-social behavior, make sure all students pass the state exams, even those who don't come to school regularly or complete any of their assignments. Plus, I am to make sure that all of the students with handicaps get an equal education regardless of the extent of their mental or physical handicap.

I am to communicate regularly with the parents by letter, telephone, newsletter and report card. All of this I am to do with just a piece of chalk, a computer, a few books, a bulletin board, a big smile, AND on a starting salary that qualifies my family for food stamps! You want me to do all of this and then you tell me . . .

Baby wipes, deodorant, razor cartridges, lotion, eye drops, toothpaste....... things like that, you get the picture. Let's, once again, show 'em all how much The Country Music Family can do when we put our hearts into it. Help us with the Country Care Package."

Lebanon is at a serious crossroad. The people and government of Lebanon must decide if they want to be used as pawns in a continual war with Israel. Or, do the people of Lebanon want to rise up and throw off the shackles of an Islamic terrorist mentality and form a democratic society. Sadly, it appears that the majority of Lebanon's people want to be used as pawns of the Islamic terrorists.

"Considering the news we are hearing from Iraq, watching this particular training exercise was especially sobering. It gave me a bird's-eye view of what is going on in Iraq, and the very specific training these men and women receive." - JH

"It is difficult to put into words what I am feeling right now. These wonderful women put on a smiling face, and made me feel totally welcome here. I realize that I don't know first hand what they are going through and the daily anguish they face, but I think after meeting and talking to them, I do have an idea. After what I saw at Ft. Campbell, my respect for the military and what they do, as well as the strong women who stay behind and support them, has increased infinitely." - JH

Medical Care

Many companies are exploring overseas healthcare in order to provide top-flight care at a fraction of the costs. This is a new development. And, this may be a positive sign that the public is finally taking health care into their own hands.

If quality of overseas healthcare can be improved, this development may spread to most companies in America. Most American health care providers are stuck in the mud in trying to provide care while at the same time cut costs. Therefore, American health care providers need to re-think their service.

The American HMO model is changing. In fact, HMO's and managed care programs may have to utilize overseas health care alternatives in order to survive.

The Marines are building a mosque on a military base. It seems that the Marines in their rush to be politically correct and gain their multicultural credentials have decided that Muslims need to be given special treatment.

The Marine brass and Muslim leaders like the Council on American Islamic Relations, which has been associated with Hamas, have come together to glorify Islam. This is odd, because most of the world's Muslims want to destroy America and Israel.

Building a mosque on a military base is a mistake and sends a message that it is okay to be an America hating Muslim on a military base. President Bush and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld have shown poor leadership on this issue.

A Republican, she told Reuters she would use her position to help explain America's involvement in Iraq (news - web sites). "What needed to be done had to be done," she said.

During the final question category, she was asked what serves her better in life -- experience or education. She immediately chose the former, saying "You can have all the book knowledge in the world, but to have the knowledge from experience. ... I think that teaches you more knowledge than anything you could possibly read in a book."

If you don’t want to support our troops, then move out of the country. It’s that simple. One aspect of my radio program is to point out ways that you can do things much easier and faster using a computer. And now, this means taking a minute or two on some Web site to let another human being know that their sacrifices are appreciated. " - Kim

Katherine Harris: Why Are Democrats and Republicans Attacking Her?

Why is Katherine Harris being attacked by both Democrats and Republicans? The Answer: For the Democrats, she was partially responsible for Bush winning the White House in 2000. It is easy to attack her. She does not have the support of the Republicans. For Republicans, she is not part of the Republican Party machine.

I can understand the Democrat's dislike for her, but the Republicans should be ashamed of themselves. She is a Republicans. The Republicans, especially Jeb Bush, should be ashamed. The Republicans have pulled out all stops to defeat her including engineering federal investigations, bad press, and staff resignations.

This entire situations points to an elitist mind-set in the Republican Party.

Army Expects to Meet Recruiting Goal

The Army will meet recruiting goals. However, the Veterans Administration (VA) still has not figured out how to treat all the disabilities that have resulted from our most recent missions. Also, the new VA Means Testing for Veterans is absurd. The VA is requiring a veteran prove that he or she deserved treatment from the VA. The veteran must document financial records. Therefore, if the VA determines that a Veteran has assets, the veteran will be denied treatment at the VA. This is just plain wrong. Veterans deserve treatment at the VA if they have served America. Veterans need to rise up and protest this most recent injustice.

Maria Shriver said,

"As First Lady, I have established a Military Family Initiative to help support California families through volunteer efforts from their fellow Californians. I truly believe that every Californian can serve this State. I challenge organizations, businesses, community groups, schools and faith-based groups to step forward and volunteer their time on behalf of military families in their time of need. You can volunteer in many ways, by providing educational support for families, assisting with home projects, mowing a lawn, raking leaves, babysitting, washing a car or preparing a meal."

India To Arrest Christians

The Supreme Court of India has ruled that it is ok to arrest anyone who talks about Jesus Christ. This is a sad development. India has taken a wrong turn in trying to purge Christianity. It appears that this is a set-back for India's development. America's Christians have supported India's progress, but this development will make most American Christians question continued support for India.

Middle East and Racism

Syrians and many other Middle East countries have been using racial slurs to describe Condi Rice. I find it amazing the liberals have not cried from the roof-tops about this obvious racism. I have not heard liberals or Democrats condemn anyone on the comments directed at Condi Rice.

On the hand, liberals and Democrats in America have called Colin Powell several offensive names. So, I guess the only racism that the liberals and Democrats are concerned about is racism directed at liberals and Democrats. I guess ethics and principles do not mean much to liberals and Democrats. I heard someone say that liberalism is a mental disorder. This would explain liberal and Democratic Party inconsistencies.

War On Terror

The War on Terror is turning into a world-wide War on Terror. The world is going to wake up to an enemy that will stop at nothing to spread terror to all countries. The west will be targeted, but other countries will be targeted in order to strike fear in countries that fight terror. The American people will need to re-dedicate themselves to this war. It will not be easy, but we can root out terrorists in America.

Ex-governor Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown is running for California's Attorney General. I hope he can do a better job as California's Attorney General than he did as California's Governor. When he was governor, he appointed Rose Bird to be the Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court. She had no judicial experience. She went from a law clerk to Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court and was one of the worst justices in history. Rose Bird and two of her liberal cronies were recalled by voters in the 1980's. I wonder if anyone will remind voters of this little piece of history.

Episcopalians Don't See The Light

The chief bishop of the Episcopal church is condemning Israel for defending themselves. And, the same leader of the Episcopalian Church still can't figure out why we dropped atomic bombs on Japan. I guess, this Episcopalian leader was not required to read history of WWII. This does not surprise me much.

Most colleges do not teach history anymore. A good reading of history will reveal that we would have lost thousands of troops if we tried to invade the Japanese homeland. So, we dropped two atomic bombs and ended the long and costly war. Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, bombed all our bases in the Pacific, killed and tortured our soldiers, and enslaved millions all across the Pacific. And in the end, they paid a terrible price for their aggression. Regardless, war is hell.

Kansas City: Mexican Sovereign Territory?

News Flash: Will Kansas City become Mexican sovereing territory? "Grass-roots Americans of all parties and economic classes rose up out of their political apathy a few months ago and forced President George W. Bush to reverse his administration's decision to allow a Middle East government to own America's major ports. But the push for foreign ownership continues: the next port scheduled to be taken over is Kansas City, Mo."

"The plan, shrouded in secrecy, has been in the works for at least three years, but it is now coming to light because of the diligent use of Missouri's Sunshine law by concerned citizens. Joyce Mucci and Francis Semler forced the release of the e-mails from Kansas City to Mexico, including one admitting that "The space (in Kansas City) would need to be designated as Mexican sovereign territory."

College Bias

What would happen if 80% of college professors were conservative Republicans? I think the protests would be overwhelming. Democrats and liberal college professors would be yelling from the roof tops about the bias. College protests would probably shut down most colleges. And, the American flag would probably be burned by campus Commies.

Well, the liberals and Democrats represent about 80% of the college professors. Where are the protests from conservatives? The silence is unbelievable. My advise to conservatives and Republicans: Get busy and create a storm on campus. Demand conservative professors. Yell from the roof tops to Congress to pass laws about this bias. Create a civil rights commission to investigate discrimination against conservatives and Republicans on campus. Yes indeed, conservatives and Republicans must raise a fuss about this bias by using a Democratic Party strategy. Namely, create a victim class for conservative Republicans. And maybe, there needs to be an Affirmative Action plan to require hiring quotas and set-asides for conservative Republicans on the college campus.

Good golly, conservative Republicans need to light a fire under congress to do something to fix this injustice.

Because, the articles are more timely and present criticisms of the topic covered. Other encyclopedias do not discuss the pros and cons of ideas. In general, I am a supporter of Wikipedia.
